During a week-long expedition to the heart of one of the most remote and tallest volcanoes in the Galápagos Islands, nature greeted us with mud, rain, and dense fog. At the time, I was working as an assistant to a National Geographic reporter, which made the experience even more meaningful. Despite the challenging weather, I took out my camera and decided to capture the magic of the moment. Because some experiences deserve to be remembered—and this was one of them: wild, unpredictable, unforgettable.
